The Hewing Hotel is located at 300 N Washington Ave, in the North Loop neighborhood of downtown Minneapolis.
The Hewing is a smoke-free property, with no smoking allowed in the rooms or in public areas, including the Rooftop.
Guests are invited to check-in at 3 p.m. Check-out is at noon.
An early check-in may be available depending on occupancy, but we will not know until the day of arrival what may or may not be possible; feel free to call us around mid-day to see how our day is shaping up. Early check-ins are allowed on a first-come, first-served basis and are never guaranteed.
Absolutely. Bring your items to the Front Desk and we’ll store them for no charge, before check-in or after check-out.

For all reservations not booked under the Pay in Advance and Save rate, if you cancel by 3 p.m. local time at least 48 hours prior to arrival, you can avoid a penalty charge of the first night’s room and taxes. If booked under the Pay in Advance and Save rate, the reservation can be cancelled but the prepaid deposit will be forfeit regardless of the reason for cancellation.
While we don’t have a shuttle from the airport, convenient rideshares like Lyft and Uber are available, as is taxi service or even the Metro Transit Light Rail.
The only parking the hotel is able to offer is valet, at a cost of $52 plus tax per night. Valet parking is currently available between the hours of 6 AM and midnight from Sundays to Thursdays, and from 6 AM to 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Guests requiring access to their vehicle outside of these hours should contact the valet or the Front Desk before midnight to ensure access to their vehicle.

Due to our long-time vendor who partnered with us for on-site massages dropping their hotel-associated business, we currently do not have the ability to offer massages at the Hewing. We are in the process of finding a new vendor who can provide the exemplary service that we require for our guests, but in the interim, please feel free to reach out to us for a list of nearby recommended massage therapists by emailing [email protected] or calling us at 651-468-0400.
Our Fitness Center is located on the lower level, and is available to guests 24/7. We also have a Yoga Room that may be made available to guests upon request.
Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel.
While robes are not pre-set in every room, all guests are welcome to request robes by contacting the Front Desk at x0.
Yes, all guest rooms come equipped with a hair dryer.
Most of our rooms are equipped with irons and ironing boards, but if you cannot locate the one in your room, call the Front Desk and one will be brought to you. We do have a few steamers available for guest use; please call the Front Desk to request one.
Yes, we have cribs available free of charge, and also Pack-N-Plays. Simply note the need on your reservation and the crib or Pack-N-Play will be waiting in your room when you check in.
Rollaways are available for a $50 charge per stay, but please be aware that they cannot be placed in Two Queen rooms or Loft King rooms. If you would like to utilize a rollaway, please note that in your reservation, or call us at 651-468-0400, x0.
While guest rooms do not have refrigerators, per se, they do have minibar coolers that keep items on the colder side of cool. Guests are welcome to remove the pre-set contents of the coolers and use them for their own purposes; we charge minibar items by consumption, not movement.
We currently do not have a regular vendor for laundry and dry cleaning services. Please contact the Front Desk for advice and assistance with dry cleaning and laundry needs.
Yes! We love pets at the Hewing; dogs especially. Dogs are allowed in all areas of the hotel except for our restaurant, Tullibee, and the Rooftop. We do like to know if you are bringing a pet, as we do try to keep one floor pet-free for our guests with allergies. Also, we would like to know your pet’s name, so we can add it to our VIP Welcome Board (for Very Important Pets!) at the Front Desk!
Yes, the Hewing charges a $100 per stay pet cleaning fee for rooms hosting pets, regardless of the size, type or breed of the pet.
The spa pool and sauna on our Rooftop are open to registered guests of the hotel who are 21 or older from 7 AM until midnight, daily (except for Tuesday mornings when the spa pool undergoes routine maintenance). The Rooftop Lounge is open to both hotel guests and the public on a first come first serve basis. Please join us Monday – Wednesday, 5pm – 12am, Thursday – Friday 3pm – 12am and Saturday – Sunday, 11am -12am.
The temperature at our spa pool fluctuates with the seasons but generally we keep it between 100 and 102 degrees, so that our guests who are expecting can also enjoy the pool!

The spa pool is strictly an amenity for our registered guests, so no outside guests are allowed.
No, the entire Rooftop area is licensed for adults 21+.
There are limited day passes available for public access to the Rooftop spa pool and sauna, Thursdays – Sundays from 11 AM until 5 PM. There are 6 passes available per day (Thursdays – Sundays) on a first come first serve basis; you must be on property to purchase a pass – they cannot be reserved in advance or over the phone. The cost of a day pass is $65 per person and are available at the Front Desk. You must be 21+ to purchase a day pass.

While our Rooftop Lounge can be contracted for parties and/or special events, the spa pool and sauna are amenities important to our guests, and therefore are not able to be rented out. We do occasionally host our own events on the Rooftop, but even then, guests are allowed Rooftop access during the events. Yes! Gift cards may be purchased either in person at our Front Desk, or online through Aparium, our management company. We have physical gift cards, or e-cards if you’d like, and both are good anywhere in the hotel – to defray the cost of a room, yes, but also for dinner at Tullibee or drinks on the Rooftop!

Photo shoots are permitted on a case by case basis and must be approved and scheduled by Hewing Management. A fee for use of our facility may be required if you are not a registered hotel guest. If you are a hotel guest, you must still schedule your photo shoot with our staff to ensure that our other hotel guests are not impacted and their privacy is protected. All photographers are required to sign a release prior to the shoot.
