The Scarlet Goodbye is the creative duo of Minnesota music veterans Dan Murphy (Soul Asylum, Golden Smog) and Jeff Arundel. A chance meeting sparked a unique collaboration in a St. Paul attic studio, resulting in Hopes Eternal—a critically acclaimed 2023 release blending gritty rock and introspective songwriting.
Now, the band returns with El Camino Adios, out March 14, 2025 via The Label Group/Virgin. The third single, “Raylene,” is a hauntingly beautiful tribute featuring the See Change Treble Choir, told from the perspective of a mourner hearing the wisdom of the departed echoed by angels.
The album’s songs revolve around a mythical town and explore themes of transformation and emotional depth—timeless stories set against shifting backdrops from Baja to NYC.
